Laser Tag Game
Laser tag is not just one game. Once you have a laser tag gun with you, you can play a lot of different versions of laser tag, all of them different from each other. For example, what they share with each other is that you will use a gun to tag an opponent – other than that, the rules can differ from game to game. For example, in some games you can have only a single life, and in others you will have more than one life. This seemingly minor difference changes the game completely because now, in the first type of the game the players have to be extra cautious. This means lesser risk-taking, and fewer kills. There are countless such rules that can be adapted and modified to the type of laser tag game you ant to play. Here we list out some of the options you have when you want to choose a laser tag game.
Types of Laser Tag Games
There are three broad categories from which you can choose a laser tag game. First are the Classic Laser Tag Games, second, games inspired from movies and TV shows and video games, third is the first person shooter style of laser tag.
Classic Laser Tag games
- Paintball Style This game of laser tag is inspired by the game of paintball. One hit and you are out.
- Elimination Style Laser Tag This game is played between two teams, with each team having two players. The ground or the arena is quite large usually 150 feet by 90 feet. The objective of the game is to tag the opposing team, and make them quit the game.
- Capture the flag In this game both teams have the objective to capture a flag. The game may have only one flag, or two different flags, one for each team. This game sees some intense competition for moving into enemy territory, because sometimes the flag is deep inside the opposing team's territory.
Games based on Movies
- Star Wars The game has a Jedi Master or just Master who does not carry a gun. The Jedi Master does carry a sensor, so he can be hit. As a weapon he also carries a sword, a touch of which can kill any player. Each team has a single Jedi Master.
- Highlander This 1980s hit film is an inspiration of laser tag game with the same name. In the movie a class of immortal warriors fought with each other for a final battle of supremacy at the end of times. The laser tag game follows this plot point, and makes every layer fight against all others. The last player who remains surviving wins the game.
- Predator, Aliens, Star Trek and Terminator These are some other movies which have inspired laser tag games. Indeed, many arenas are designed to mimic the sets and style of particular movies. So if you want to play Terminator, you can contact arenas who have that kind of design to set the background for your game.
